Frequently Asked Questions
How to choose between Heat Sinks & VCs?
The choice depends on heat density, transport distance, and available installation space. In high-performance systems, we often combine these technologies: a vapor chamber serves as the base for rapid heat spreading, while heat pipes transport heat to distant cooling fins. We also model the ratio of ΔT to cost/volume to deliver the optimal, manufacturable geometry.
Do you offer consulting on surface treatments?
Yes – depending on emissivity, corrosion protection, and electrical requirements, we recommend processes such as black anodizing, chemical conversion coatings (chem-film), nickel plating, or painting.
Custom fit for existing fans & enclosures?
Absolutely. We perform system-level optimization by matching the fan's P–Q curve (pressure vs. volumetric flow rate) with the enclosure's airflow resistance curve.
This holistic approach ensures that both your temperature targets (ΔT) and acoustic requirements (dBA) are met.
What types of prototypes can you provide for validation?
We offer a broad range of options: CNC-machined, extruded, skived-fin, and brazed-fin heat sinks, as well as precision-machined base plates. All prototypes can be delivered as fully assembled thermal modules, complete with detailed thermal test reports.
What are the lead times and MOQs?
Prototypes are typically ready in 4–10 weeks (depending on tooling requirements).
Minimum order quantities (MOQs) for series production vary significantly depending on the manufacturing process (e.g., extrusion vs. brazing) and are defined during the quotation phase (RFQ).
Compliance with environmental standards?
Yes. All of our thermal solutions are compliant with RoHS and REACH as standard. For plastic components or thermal interface materials (TIMs) within the module, we provide proof of UL 94 flammability ratings and additional safety certifications upon request.
Solutions for strict noise requirements?
This is achievable. By maximizing heat spreading (via Vapor Chambers) and fin efficiency, we reduce the need for high airflow rates. If active cooling is required, we tailor the design to the operating curves of low-RPM fans, ensuring optimal acoustics alongside high thermal performance.
Lead Times?
Prototypes are usually available within a few weeks (depending on the selected manufacturing process).
Series production follows tooling creation and the corresponding validation cycles. For existing catalog products, our central European warehouse can support fast delivery.
